United Methodist Church of Wentzville: Benevolence & The Grace Period
Wentzville United Methodist Church, located at 725 Wall Street in Wentzville, Missouri, is one of the seven local churches that support Mary Martha Thrift Shop — and also one of our charitable award recipients. Mary Martha's awards to Wentzville UMC fund their Benevolence Fund for utility assistance in the Wentzville area, and the church partners with The Grace Period, which sponsors families for 90 days.
A Benevolence Fund That Keeps Neighbors Stable
The Benevolence Fund at Wentzville UMC provides direct utility assistance to neighbors in the Wentzville area who are struggling to keep the lights and heat on. For a family facing a shut-off notice, this assistance can prevent a crisis from spiraling into something far worse — like eviction or homelessness. The fund responds quickly and confidentially, meeting urgent needs with compassion.
Through its partnership with The Grace Period, Wentzville UMC extends its impact even further. The Grace Period sponsors families for 90 days, providing sustained support that helps them regain stability rather than simply weathering a single emergency. This longer-term approach addresses the root causes of financial crisis and helps families build a more secure future.
A Church Committed to Mission
Wentzville UMC is also home to the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry and the Adopt A Family ministry — both of which Mary Martha separately supports. As one of the seven churches behind Mary Martha Thrift Shop, Wentzville UMC provides volunteers, leadership, and a shared foundation of faith. Our charitable award to their Benevolence Fund is both a partnership and a reinvestment in the community we serve together.
In 2025, our charitable awards reached $217,632 across more than 30 local organizations. Wentzville United Methodist Church is a vital part of that giving.
