How Your Donations Support St. Charles County

At Mary Martha Thrift Shop, every single item you donate or purchase directly translates into support for the underserved in St. Charles County and the surrounding areas. Our mission is to serve our community through compassion, generosity, and hope, and it is through your ongoing support that we are able to achieve and exceed these goals year after year.

When you drop off gently used clothing, household items, or toys, you are doing much more than decluttering your home. You are providing affordable essentials to individuals and families who are facing financial hardship. But the impact doesn't stop there. The proceeds from every sale in our shop are carefully managed and distributed to local charitable organizations that provide critical services to our neighbors in need.

    A Year of Record-Breaking Impact

We are thrilled to share that our gross revenue increased by 50.17% from 2021 to 2025, reaching a total of $379,298. This incredible growth is a testament to the generosity of our donors and the loyalty of our shoppers. More importantly, this growth allowed us to increase our charitable awards by 69.31% over the same period, growing from $109,950 in 2021 to $217,632 in 2025.

These numbers represent real lives changed. They represent meals for the hungry, safe housing for the vulnerable, educational support for children, and emergency assistance for families facing unexpected crises. And we aren't stopping there—we project another 25% increase in charitable donations by 2026.

    Where the Money Goes

Our largest investment remains our charitable awards. We proudly support a wide network of local organizations, including food pantries, shelters, youth programs, and healthcare clinics. For example, our contributions help fund the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry, providing essential groceries to families. We also support organizations like First Step Back Home, which offers temporary housing, rent assistance, and transportation for the homeless and working poor.

Our partnerships extend to medical and therapeutic services as well. We provide funding to the Crossroads Clinic for restorative dental procedures and diabetic supplies, and we support the Tree House of Greater St. Louis, which offers critical therapy services for children, adults, and veterans with disabilities.

    Supported by Seven Local Churches

Mary Martha Thrift Shop is uniquely positioned as a collaborative effort supported by seven local churches: Dardenne Presbyterian Church, Faith United Church of Christ, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. John's United Church of Christ, St. Patrick Catholic Church, and the United Methodist Church of Wentzville. This coalition of faith communities provides not only financial and volunteer support but also a strong foundation of shared values and a commitment to serving the most vulnerable among us.

How You Can Continue to Help

The need in our community is ongoing, and there are many ways you can continue to support our mission:

    1. Shop with Us: Every purchase you make helps fund our charitable awards. Plus, you never know what hidden treasures you might find!
    2. Donate: We accept gently used clothing, household goods, toys, and books during our regular store hours. Your donations keep our inventory fresh and our mission moving forward.
    3. Volunteer: Our volunteers are the real treasure in our chest. By giving your time, you help keep our operating costs low, ensuring that more money goes directly to those who need it most.

Thank you for being a vital part of the Mary Martha Thrift Shop community. Together, we are making a profound and lasting difference in St. Charles County.
