The Community Council of St. Charles County is a cornerstone of social services in our region, and its Hunger Task Force is one of the most far-reaching anti-hunger efforts in the area. Mary Martha Thrift Shop is proud to support the Community Council's food pantry and Hunger Task Force, with our charitable awards funding the Hunger Task Force that covers St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties and donates to other pantries throughout the region.

    A Regional Approach to Hunger

Hunger does not stop at county lines. The Hunger Task Force operated by the Community Council of St. Charles County takes a regional view, collecting information for a comprehensive Food Resource Guide, raising awareness about hunger in our community, and working closely with partner pantries to ensure food reaches every corner of St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. By coordinating distribution and sharing resources among many smaller pantries, the Hunger Task Force multiplies the impact of every dollar donated.

Mary Martha's charitable awards help fund this coordination and the direct food distribution that flows from it. When you support Mary Martha, you are helping feed families across a three-county region — not just one neighborhood, but an entire network of neighbors in need.

Why Mary Martha Supports the Community Council

Our mission is to serve the underserved in our community and the surrounding area. The Community Council's regional reach aligns perfectly with that mission, extending our impact far beyond Wentzville. As a donation-led thrift shop supported by seven local churches, we believe in partnering with organizations that have the infrastructure and relationships to make every gift count.

In 2025, our charitable awards reached $217,632 across more than 30 local organizations. The Community Council's Hunger Task Force is a vital part of that giving, representing our commitment to fighting hunger at scale.
